Text Encoding Initiative P5 Guidelines

The TEI Guidelines are an internationally recognized standard for creating high-quality full-text digital representations of texts. They are widely used in digital libraries and in the humanities, social sciences, and linguistics. The two-volume set includes formal schema specifications, reference documentation, and extensive narrative documentation on all aspects of TEI use and analysis. Since 1994, the TEI Guidelines have been widely used by libraries, museums, publishers, and individual scholars to present texts for online research, teaching, and preservation, and are essential reading for anyone embarking on a new digital text encoding project. The Text Encoding Initiative Consortium is a non-profit entity dedicated to developing and maintaining this standard.
